Do I need a partner?

Nope!  We switch partners in all classes so everyone gets the chance to dance, meet new people and learn 35% faster.

Question 2

I've never danced before. Is this really for me?

Accepted Answer

We recommend starting with an absolute beginner class if you've never danced before.  All of our beginner classes start from the beginning as if you've never had a dance class before in your life.Our performance team class is recommended for individuals who have had at least one year of ballroom dance experience.  If you are unsure if performance team is right for you, please feel free to contact us!

Question 3

What should I wear?

Accepted Answer

We always recommend clothes that you can move comfortably in.  For ballroom classes, business casual is recommend most.  For Latin and nightclub dances such as salsa or country two step, we recommend wearing something more casual such as jeans.

Question 4

What shoes should I bring?

Accepted Answer

We always recommend getting a pair of ballroom dance shoes as this will be the one tool that will significantly help your dancing. We can order shoes at our studio or you can find budget friendly shoes on Amazon. If you are a part of our formation team, we require leaders to be in black shoes and followers to be in tan open toed Latin shoes.If you are unsure if ballroom or latin dancing is your thing yet, then designating a pair of shoes specifically for dancing that are wiped clean and free of dirt and stones will do.  You'll want to wear something completely secured to your foot and flat such as a ballet flat for ladies and a dress shoe for gentlemen.  We do not recommend tennis shoes, sandals, flip flops, or socks.

Can I join mid month instead of at the beginning?

Accepted Answer

Because each class builds on the one before it, everyone starts together. This allows everyone to progress at the same pace, making the class more enjoyable and less frustrating.  Think of it like taking four chapters of the same book.  You wouldn't want to start on chapter three!
